FAQ

Details on tokens, free runs, cover letters, and how the AI works. If you have any other questions, reach out and I will try to help.

Tokens

How do tokens work?

One token covers a generated resume and an optional cover letter.

Tokens are only consumed when the draft is generated.

Do tokens expire?

Paid tokens do not expire. Use them whenever you need to optimize a new resume.

The only exception is if you delete your account, in which case any remaining tokens will be lost.

Can I buy more tokens later?

Yes. You can pick up more tokens at any time. Your balance will update immediately after checkout.

Free tokens

Do I get free runs?

Yes! You receive a number of free tokens each week so you can keep creating new resumes without paying.

Free tokens reset every week and do not roll over.

Are free tokens different from paid tokens?

Free and paid tokens are both used to generate resumes and cover letters.

Paid tokens will always use the best AI model available on the platform.

Users with paid tokens also have access to additional features, such as the ability to create profiles directly from existing resumes.

If I have both free and paid tokens, which ones get used?

Free tokens will always be used first.

Members with paid tokens will always use the strongest available AI model, regardless of which token type actually gets used.

Cover letters

Can I generate a cover letter?

Yes. Toggle the cover letter option in the lab flow. It will use the same profile context and job description you provide.

Cover letters cannot be generated separately from resumes.

Does a cover letter cost a token?

Cover letters are included for free with each resume. Generating both a resume and cover letter in a single flow only consumes 1 token.

Can I tweak the tone of a cover letter?

Yes. If you want a specific tone (formal, concise, or more conversational), add a short note in the lab flow before you generate.

After generation you can edit any paragraph before exporting to PDF.

AI usage

What model powers the drafts?

The system uses large language models to select profile items and rewrite them in context.

The specific model may vary over time as new and improved versions become available. Generally, these models are offered by providers like Google or OpenAI.

Can I use my own OpenAI/Google API key?

Potentially in the future, but no concrete plans right now. Storing user API keys securely is challenging and something that'd need to be implemented carefully.

Do you store my data?

Profile data and generated resumes are stored so you can reopen and edit them later; you can delete them at any time.

As part of the lab flow, profile items are sent to the AI provider to generate the draft. Your data is not shared with any other external service.

How do you avoid hallucinations?

The lab flow attempts to constrain the AI to your profile content and the job description.

Sometimes this can misfire, but you can edit draft resumes before exporting to PDF. You're always in control of the final document.
